How Lejacie collects, uses and looks after personal information.

Lejacie Pty Ltd (ABN 92 692 946 302) (“Lejacie”, “we”, “us” or “our”) is committed to handling personal information with transparency, care and integrity. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and look after personal information when you visit lejacie.com, contact us, subscribe to LegalLens or other publications, use our resources, or engage us for commissioned work.

We aim to handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles.

1. The information we collect

We only collect personal information that is reasonably necessary for our work. This may include:

  • Contact and professional information: your name, email address, phone number, job title, organisation and sector, when you contact us, subscribe to a publication, nominate someone for Future Professional Conversations, register for an event or ask about a commission.
  • Information you choose to tell us: what you write in our contact form, such as what is happening, what should be happening instead, who is affected and where it currently breaks.
  • Technical information: basic information your browser sends when you visit the website, such as your IP address, browser type and device, which our website host and font provider may receive when the page loads.

Please do not send us confidential case information, legally privileged material, health records, client files or identifying information about a person at risk. We do not request sensitive personal case data. Any scenario work in our commissions is de-identified.

2. How we collect it

We collect personal information directly from you when you:

  • complete a form on our website;
  • email, phone or write to us;
  • subscribe to LegalLens or another publication;
  • take part in a workshop, Lab, interview or commissioned project.

3. How we use it

We use personal information to:

  • respond to your enquiry, nomination, speaking request or partnership proposal;
  • deliver commissioned work, including Research Translation & Impact, Expertise Capture & Client Resource Design, Conference & Evidence-to-Practice, Implementation & Practice Translation, Labs and research partnerships;
  • send publications you have subscribed to, such as LegalLens;
  • issue invoices and meet our contractual and legal obligations;
  • improve our website, resources and accessibility.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information.

We may share personal information only:

  • with service providers who help us run the website and our work, such as our website host (Netlify), our contact-form service, our email and newsletter providers and our payment providers. Some of these providers store information outside Australia, including in the United States. We choose providers with appropriate security and confidentiality practices;
  • where required or authorised by law, including by a court, tribunal or regulator.

5. Security and storage

We take reasonable steps to protect personal information from misuse, interference, loss and unauthorised access, including using reputable providers, secure connections and access controls. No internet transmission is completely secure, so please think carefully about what you send us online.

We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law.

6. Your rights

You can ask to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • correct information that is inaccurate, incomplete or out of date;
  • unsubscribe from any publication at any time, using the link in the email or by contacting us.

Lejacie’s website and resources provide research, education and general practice design. We do not provide emergency, crisis, mental health or legal advice services.

8. Complaints

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version will always be on this page with its “last updated” date.
