Welcome to the website of Lejacie Pty Ltd (ABN 92 692 946 302) (“Lejacie”, “we”, “us” or “our”). By using lejacie.com, subscribing to our publications or using our resources, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website.
1. What Lejacie does
Lejacie is an independent research, learning and innovation lab for the future of legal and justice professions. We provide applied research, research translation, professional education, practice design and implementation support, published through After the Law, Professionals From the Future, LegalLens, Lejacie reports and resources, and delivered through commissioned work and Labs.
2. Not legal advice
Information on this website, in our publications and in our resources is general information for research, educational and practice design purposes only. It is not legal advice, legal representation, a formal legal opinion, compliance certification, formal audit or assurance.
- No lawyer-client relationship. Using this website, reading our publications, using our resources or contacting us does not create a lawyer-client relationship between you or your organisation and Lejacie or Chami Rupasinghe.
- Get advice for your situation. Laws and obligations depend on specific facts and jurisdictions. Do not act, or decide not to act, on information on this website without getting advice from a qualified professional about your situation.
- Working alongside specialists. Where tailored legal, privacy, technical, clinical, cultural, safety or other specialist advice is needed, Lejacie can identify that boundary and work with the relevant expertise. We do not replace your lawyers, in-house counsel or specialist advisers.
3. Intellectual property
Unless otherwise stated, the content on this website, including text, graphics, frameworks, diagnostic tools, papers, resources and the names of Lejacie’s methods (including the Paper-to-Person Gap, Usable Expertise, Safe to Say, Safe to Reach, Safe to Use, the 4:47pm Test, the Lejacie Investigation Method and the Future Professional Capability Map), belongs to Lejacie Pty Ltd.
- You may view, download and print our content for your own personal or internal, non-commercial use, and cite our papers with attribution.
- You may not reproduce, republish, sell, adapt or commercialise our content, frameworks or resources without our written permission.
4. Commissioned work
Fees, deliverables, timelines, cancellation and intellectual property for commissioned work are set out in a separate written agreement or statement of work between Lejacie and the client.
5. Links to other websites
Our website and publications link to legislation, courts, regulators, research and other external sources. We provide these for reference. We do not control, and are not responsible for, those websites or their content.
6. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, including the Australian Consumer Law:
- we provide this website and its content “as is”, without warranties of any kind;
- we do not guarantee the website will always be available or error-free;
- we are not liable for any loss arising from use of, or reliance on, this website, its publications or its resources.
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded.
7. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. You agree to the jurisdiction of the courts of Victoria and the Federal Court of Australia.
